If you're not on one of my mailing lists, please call or text me to verify that a circle is happening before showing up for an open song circle. It is rare, but occasionally I do need to cancel!
Since June 2024, I’ve been hosting these casual drop-in song circles in Eugene, Oregon almost every week. They’ve become a joyful gathering place for voices of all kinds — seasoned singers, hesitant beginners, children, parents, elders, and friends.
We meet in my home on a regular, weekly schedule to share songs in a round-robin style, meaning there’s no single song leader. Each person is invited to bring a song to share — though this is entirely optional, and I always have plenty of songs on hand if that’s what’s called for. The space is relaxed, welcoming, and intimate — a place to drop in, connect, experiment, and let music move through us together.
Bring your voice, an instrument, drum, or shaker if you like, and come just as you are.
Occasionally, I host additional evening or weekend circles. These circles often center around a theme, and may be more formal or include additional elements such as extended personal sharing times, some form of ritual prayer, or perhaps the sharing of tea or cacao. These circles will be announced with details here as they are scheduled, or you can also join my mailing list.
For our regular weekly circles, we typically begin with a simple check-in, where each person is invited to share their name, pronouns, and a bit about how they’re arriving that day. These check-ins help us get to know each other and feel more connected as a community, but participation is always optional.
Late arrivals and early departures are completely okay — please take care of yourself and do what you need.
