From my cozy, in-home South Eugene, Oregon office, I offer prenatal, labor, postpartum, and infant massage, providing thoughtful, attuned care through each phase of pregnancy and early parenthood. Outcall or housecall sessions for prenatal, labor, postpartum, and infant massage are also available as needed within the Eugene/Springfield area.

Why Choose Massage During Pregnancy?

Pregnancy is a time of incredible physical and emotional change. I offer massage during pregnancy to help you feel supported, relaxed, and more comfortable — mentally, emotionally, and physically. Through my work, I aim to help relieve fatigue, ease aches and pains, improve sleep, calm an active baby, and provide emotional support.

Here’s how massage can support clients throughout each trimester:

First Trimester

  • Relieve headaches
  • Ease morning sickness
  • Reduce fatigue
  • Provide emotional support

Second Trimester

  • Alleviate back pain
  • Relieve leg cramps
  • Reduce the appearance of stretch marks
  • Reduce anxiety

Third Trimester

  • Reduce swelling (edema)
  • Ease discomfort from varicose veins
  • Improve sleep
  • Prepare pelvic muscles for birth
  • Support the onset of labor (if past due) using specific acupressure and reflexology techniques

Throughout pregnancy, massage can also:

  • Improve circulation, which may help prevent anemia
  • Increase muscle tone and flexibility, reducing leg cramps and muscle spasms
  • Stimulate the lymphatic system, boosting immunity and removing excess toxins
  • Support hormonal balance and the glandular system

Massage isn’t just about addressing pregnancy-related discomfort — it’s also a chance to nurture yourself, relieve everyday tension, and connect with your body during this transformative time. My goal is to help you feel supported and at ease throughout the journey.

Massage during the birthing process

During labor, I offer massage to:

  • Reduce anxiety
  • Help ease pain
  • Support a smoother birth experience
  • Use specific acupressure or reflexology points to encourage labor, if desired

Are There Times When Massage Should Be Avoided?

If you’re experiencing a normal, low-risk pregnancy, you can safely benefit from prenatal massage provided by a trained therapist. However, if your pregnancy is considered high-risk, it’s important to consult with your doctor or midwife before starting a massage program. Depending on your specific situation, I may adapt certain techniques to ensure your safety and comfort.

During any massage, your comfort is always my top priority. If you feel any discomfort, please let me know right away.

Massage After Birth

Postpartum massage can help restore abdominal muscle tone, re-align the pelvis, and relieve new aches that arise from caring for a baby. Many new parents experience tension in the neck, shoulders, and back from holding, feeding, and carrying their little one — massage can provide much-needed relief and replenishment during this tender time.
